Recap: Intersolar Webinar Explores American-manufactured Solar and Domestic Supply Chain Strategies

Share

On November 6, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern Time, SEG Solar (“SEG”), a leading U.S. photovoltaic module manufacturer, partnered with Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA) to host a successful webinar titled “SEG Solar’s Path to U.S. Manufacturing Excellence: Real-World Insights and Strategic Lessons.”

公众号内文尺寸.pngDuring the session, SEG President & CEO Jim Wood joined IESNA Digital Editor Krista Simicich in a deep dive into how evolving trade policies are reshaping the U.S. solar market—and how SEG is navigating this complex landscape through cutting-edge manufacturing, strategic domestic investments, and a rigorous compliance framework to deliver sustainable growth and earn the trust of utility-scale customers.

Amid a confluence of trade restrictions—including Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) limitations, Section 232 national security tariffs, and ongoing anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) measures—the U.S. solar industry is undergoing a systemic reconfiguration of its supply chain, accelerating toward greater localization, transparency, and regulatory compliance. As a 100% U.S.-owned and operated manufacturer, SEG has implemented a comprehensive compliance management system that ensures full traceability of critical raw materials and strict adherence to all applicable regulations. The company’s modules already meet the “qualified domestic content” thresholds under both the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and OBBBA (One Big Beautiful Bill Act).

“From day one, SEG was built on a clear vision: to establish truly American solar manufacturing,” said CEO Jim Wood during the webinar. “We’re investing in U.S. capacity, building resilient local supply chains, and creating American jobs—all to deliver a transparent, reliable, and bankable solar supply chain that our customers can count on. With advanced PV technology at our core, we’re not just improving module efficiency and reliability; we’re directly addressing what large-scale project developers need most: high-performance, financeable products.”

SEG recently completed delivery of 166 MW of modules for Avangrid’s Tower Solar project in Oregon—the first utility-scale order fulfilled from its Houston factory since production began. The company is now simultaneously ramping up multiple hundred-megawatt projects, further solidifying its leadership position in North America’s utility-scale solar market.

The webinar underscored SEG’s integrated strengths in policy adaptation, manufacturing execution, and commercial delivery—offering a replicable blueprint for U.S. solar manufacturers. As the nation advances both supply chain localization and its clean energy transition, SEG is steadily raising the bar for what American-manufactured solar can achieve.
