SEG Solar Extends Its Track Record on BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 PV Module Makers List
HOUSTON, Aug. 19, 2026 -- SEG Solar (“SEG”), a leading U.S. solar module manufacturer, continues to be recognized on BloombergNEF’s (BNEF) Tier 1 PV Module Makers list. SEG’s continued inclusion reflects its bankability and track record of supplying modules to projects backed by nonrecourse project financing.

BNEF’s Tier 1 methodology is based on bankability, measured by whether projects using a manufacturer’s solar products have secured nonrecourse bank financing. To qualify for the Tier 1 list, manufacturers must have supplied own-brand, self-manufactured modules to at least six projects financed by six different commercial banks within the past two years. Only project financings exceeding 10 MW are considered. The list serves as an independent industry reference for developers, investors and financial institutions evaluating module manufacturer bankability.
As artificial intelligence drives rapid growth in computing demand, data centers are increasing the need for reliable, lower-carbon power. Solar energy is well positioned to help meet that demand. SEG is responding by expanding U.S. manufacturing capacity and strengthening its domestic supply capabilities.

SEG marked the opening of its second 4 GW module facility in Tomball, Texas, on Aug. 7. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026. The company has also started construction of a third U.S. facility, including approximately 1.15 million square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space. Completion is targeted for March 2027, with production expected to begin in May 2027. Once operational, the expansion is expected to bring SEG’s total U.S. module manufacturing capacity to approximately 10.6 GW.
SEG is also advancing a vertically integrated supply chain designed to strengthen resilience and trade compliance. The company has launched an ingot and wafer manufacturing project in Indonesia to secure access to critical upstream materials. SEG is also investing in heterojunction technology to improve module conversion efficiency and further developing its Foreign Entity of Concern compliance framework to support customers’ sourcing requirements.
“Our continued inclusion on BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 list reflects SEG’s bankability and growing presence in financed solar projects,” said Jim Wood, CEO of SEG Solar. “As AI accelerates electricity demand, reliable supply chains are more important than ever. We will continue expanding capacity and advancing technology to deliver efficient, dependable solar solutions for our global partners.”
